General Information

Entry Visa: Required Visa is obtainable at any Myanmar Embassy/ consulate for 30 days and 3 photos are needed. Clients traveling to Kachin State of Myitkyina and Pu-ta-o should arrange the tour program 3 weeks ahead on requirement.

Customs: Foregin currencies, jewellery, electrical / electronic articles, video camara and camaras must be decleared at the custom s. Export of archeaological objects, antiques, illegal gems and jewellery are strictly prohibited. Entry requirements include exchange of US $ 200 for Foregin Individual Travellers ( F.I.T ), as equivlent value of Foregin Exchange Certificates ( F.E.C ) .

Currency: The monetary unit is in " Kyat " notes issued in denomination of 1, 5, 10,15, 45, 50, 90, 100, 200,500 , and 1000. Travellers are not allowed to bring in or take out Myanmar Kyats.

Time: GMT + 6. 5 0 hours. ( One hour different with Singapore and 30 minutes with Thailand ).

Health : A yelllow fever vaccination cetificate is required from travellers coming from or passing through infected areas.

Dress : Casual and light clothing is recommeded for Myanmar all year round. A light sweater or jacked will be useful during the winter season. Heavy sweater or jumpers are needed when travelling hilly areas.

Climate : Myanmar mainly enjoys a tropical climate with three seasons. Hot season, Rainy season and Cold Season. The best time to visit Myanmar is the period from October to March.

( a ) Reconfirm your international air ticket before going up country,
( b ) Visitors are also advised to buy Gems, Jewellery, Silverwares from authorized shop and Myanmar Gems Emporium so that you will obtain a voucher with a permit for export,
( c ) Visitors are requested to dress proper attire within the religous premises and any kinds of footwear must be removed in hte areas Pogodas and monasteries,
( d ) Entrance fees are collected at famous pagodas, temples, monastries, museum and archaeological site,
( e ) US $10 airport tax is to be paid at the departure.

Airport Tax : Any foreign passenger departing Myanmar on intenational flights must pay an airport tax US $ 10 per person.
